PCT National Phase Applications


Please Note: Requirements can change without notice and the following should be taken as a guide only. Always contact us for advice relevant to your specific situation.

Minimum Requirements for Obtaining a Filing Date
(The due date for entry into the national phase 30 months from the earliest priority date)

  • Front page of PCT pamphlet as published
  • Details of any transfer, change of name or change of address recorded with the International Bureau of WIPO
  • If the PCT application is not in English, an English translation of:
    • PCT application as originally filed
    • Article 19 amendments, if any
    • Any pages annexed to the IPER
  • We recommend that you also provide us with copies of the following, if available:
    • Full copy of the PCT application as published
    • Article 19 amendments, if any
    • The IPER and any Annex thereto
    • The International Search Report

Within Two Months of The Due Date for Entry into the National Phase

  • Where any documents are not in English, a verified version of the translation into English presented at filing

PCT Chapter I Applications only

  • Within 32 Months of Priority Date (if claimed) or PCT Filing Date (if no priority claimed), file request for examination with a copy of the International Search Report and full copies of all citations and a patent family list for citations not in English, or
  • File request for combined search and examination

Within 54 Months of Priority Date (if claimed) or PCT Filing Date (if no priority claimed)

  • Pay Grant Fee - Any amendments to the application and/or the filing of a divisional application must be done before payment of the grant fee.
