US Patents
How do I protect my inventions in the US?
In the US, as in most countries, it is important to file a patent application to obtain a filing date as early as possible. However, in some circumstances in the US it may be important to be able to prove when the invention was actually made. This is commonly referred to as establishing the date of invention. This and other aspects of US patent law require specialist advice, so please contact us for advice if you are considering protecting your inventions in the US.
The Intellectual Property FAQ are intended to provide general information only and not advice with regard to specific cases. The information given is non-exhaustive. Furthermore the relevant law and its interpretation is liable to change and may vary from country to country.
